Building Services supports the campus by providing housekeeping, general maintenance, trade services, and landscaping services to the University campus. We strive to provide a safe, healthy and clean living environment for students, faculty and staff, and summer guests through effective facilities planning and by providing quick responses to building and grounds issues. This includes directly serving the daily maintenance and housekeeping needs for over 12,500 students living in residence halls and apartments, as well as the daily custodial and grounds needs for the entire UConn Storrs campus. We are responsible for the facilities management of the Science Areas where a specialized team of managers and trade workers support the CLAS science buildings.
The Building Services staff provides additional support to the University in the following areas:
- Overseeing the snow removal effort
- Science Area management
- Contributing to the success of the recycling program
- Coordinating the replacement and upgrade of residential furniture
- Supporting Summer Conferences
Building Services staff work with Residential Life to develop the scope of projects and initiates renovations to the residence halls in collaboration with other departments.
