The Energy Management Systems Group installs, operates, programs, maintains and repairs the Building Automation Systems which manage the centralized control of UConn’s heating, ventilation, air conditioning and campus potable water delivery and distribution systems. The Building Automation Systems at the University of Connecticut consist of approximately 8000 controllers monitoring/controlling over 50,000 points. The Group’s mission is to provide all academic/research programs, faculty, staff and students reliable system operation while minimizing energy consumption and operating costs. Members of the team work closely with HVAC Shop technicians to help speed the process of diagnosis and repair in the event of fault/failure to minimize downtime and enhance operational readiness.
