Asset Management

Asset Management was developed to help UConn’s Facilities Operations the ability to obtain maximum value from its assets, striking the right balance between performance improvement, risk reduction and cost optimization.  An Asset is, as it pertains to UConn's Facilities Operations, are but not limited to Boilers, Chillers, HVAC and Plumbing equipment, Electrical Transformers, Switchgear and Panels as well as Vehicles.  Currently there are over 14,000 assets recorded in the Facilities Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Asset Management is the systematic process of planning and control of a physical asset throughout its life.  Including its operation, maintenance, warranty and disposal.  Here at UConn, the Asset Manager's main focus is maintaining the Asset Data Standards and Integrity for the above mentioned Asset Types and they work closely with all shops and construction departments ensuring maintenance schedules and inspection procedures are met.  The Manager leading this department is Luis Dejesus with valuable support from Robert Healy.
