Electrical Shop
The Electrical Shop is responsible for the following items across campus.
- Providing electrical installation services
- Servicing interior and exterior building light fixtures
- Replacing receptacles and switches
- Maintaining lighting control system for lecture halls
- Assisting in troubleshooting motor controllers and transformers
- Servicing and repairing electric motors
- Operating high voltage electrical distribution network
- Installation of new duct banks and manhole systems on campus
- Install new led system upgrades on campus
- Install and maintain electric vehicle chargers around campus
- Work on campus solar PV systems
- Work on and maintain our Gas turbine Cogen plant
- Install and maintain building generator stems from 120/208 -13,800 volts
- Maintain emergency lighting battery systems in all buildings on campus
- Maintain our emergency 4160 volt back up emergency power in our utility plant
- Work on and maintain power in campus tunnel systems and manholes
- Work on and maintain UPS battery systems
- Maintain and installation of the streetlights on campus
- Maintain or Troubleshoot issues at any wastewater facility on campus
- Install and maintain fountain pond pumps
- Bucket truck with jib to lift 500lb or lighter on to roofs 40 feet or lower
