Maintenance Projects and Planning
Facilities Operations Maintenance Projects and Planning serves as a critical component of UConn by providing safe and quality building space for students, faculty, and staff. Our mission is to continuously study asset (an asset is either a facility or equipment) conditions on campus, practice preventive maintenance and be proactive and nimble in planning the upcoming projects based on building criticality and funding availability. We are committed to safety, compliance, transparency, and efficiency.
Our role is to maintain campus buildings, equipment, roads, grounds, and utilities in the most efficient, operable, and safe condition. Categories of maintenance projects include structural, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, interior renovation and landscaping. A few examples of such projects are classroom upgrade, lab renovation, roof repair, parking lot or garage restoration and chiller replacement.
Our group also administers the Facilities Operations Five Year Plan, which includes the planning, prioritizing, funding and tracking of capital and maintenance projects managed by Facilities Operations to address deferred maintenance needs on the Storrs and Regional campuses.
