Code/Hazardous Material
The Hazardous Material Abatement & Code Correction Coordinator (HMACCC) serves as Facilities Operations' liaison with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and the Fire Marshal & Building Inspector's Office (FMBIO) at UConn. In consultation with EH&S and the FMBIO, the HMACCC provides guidance to Facilities Operations staff on environmental health and safety and building and fire code compliance related matters. The HMACCC works with Facilities Operations staff when questions arise concerning hazardous building materials in the workplace. Working closely with environmental testing, inspection and abatement contractors, the HMACCC serves as the University's Project Manager for all abatement work conducted for Facilities Operations as well as emergency response needs for campus-wide hazardous material emergencies.
