INTRODUCTION

UConn’s Facilities Operations Department has a job opening for a Maintenance Supervisor 1 – General (MS1 – General) position at the Stamford Campus location.  This is a permanent, full-time, 1st shift position, with a work schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 37.5 hours per week with an unpaid half an hour for lunch.

This position is categorized as Emergency Support Services/Essential Staff. Must be willing to work during emergency closures/delayed openings due to inclement weather or for significant events that effect campus operations.  Applicants must also be willing to respond to emergencies on overtime (nights, weekends holidays).

Please note that the candidate selected for this position will primarily be assigned to the Stamford Campus, however, this position will also require the incumbent to perform job duties at any of the Regional Campuses as assigned.

INTRODUCTION

UConn’s Facilities Operations Department has six job openings, for QCW Plumber/Steamfitters at the Storrs Campus.  A current State of Connecticut P-1 or P-2 license is required. These are permanent, full-time, positions 37.5 hours per week.

The hourly salary is $31.86/hour and is non-negotiable for those new to State Employment; the hourly rate of pay for current NP-2 employees is calculated based on current salary/step.

These positions are categorized as “Open to the Public”; current UConn NP-2 employees will be given preference in the hiring process. The following are the current work schedules and locations this announcement is recruiting for:

  • 1st Shift Plumbing Shop:  Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Supervisor:  Jason Grivois
  • 1st Shift Plumbing Shop:  Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Supervisor:  Jason Grivois

  • 2nd Shift Evening Trades Shop:  Tuesday – Saturday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Supervisor:  John Baldesweiler
  • 2nd Shift Evening Trades Shop:  Sunday – Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Supervisor: John Baldesweiler

The 2nd  and 3rd shift positions are eligible for shift differential.  Weekend differential is applied to hours worked on Saturday or Sunday, on 1st, 2nd  and 3rd shift positions, if the entire 7.5 hour shift is worked.
